The EU Competition Law MA is only open to students who have successfully completed the EU Competition Law Postgraduate diploma at merit level. The University seeks to train its research postgraduate (RPg) students to develop sound research skills, to advance and create knowledge and become critical thinkers in their chosen fields of study, and to conduct enquiries in their areas of specialization in a professional, expert and ethical manner.

Supervision for the MA dissertation takes place during term 3. While you will also be working on essays due during this term, it’s important to keep working regularly on your dissertation, and especially to make the most of your contact with your supervisor.

Postgraduate Supervision The Department of History has a long tradition of supervising Master’s dissertations and PhD theses. For obvious reasons, Unisa historians have always focused very strongly on topics that are relevant in South African scholarship, especially in the fields of colonial history and the history of apartheid.

The mark for the dissertation is based on the dissertation alone, and follows the normal marking scheme for postgraduate taught programmes. Students are required to complete the dissertation to a satisfactory standard (minimum pass mark 50%). If a dissertation is marked below 50%, students have one opportunity to re-submit it in the following year.

The Postgraduate Diploma Consultative Supervision places emphasis on evidenced-based practice and pays close attention to the criteria outlined in the BACP curriculum framework for counselling supervision training. There is also an option to study the specific skills needed to supervise practitioners working with children and young people.
